This article shows you how to create an API Client ID and Client Secret for the SCOM ServiceNow Incident Connector. In order to create the API Client ID and Client Secret you need to login to ServiceNow with an account which has sufficient permissions to modify the Application Registry.
To create the API Client ID and Client Secret, follow the steps listed below:
- Browse to your ServiceNow instance and login.
- Once you have logged in browse to the System OAuth section and click Application Registry and click the New button.
- Now click the Create an OAuth API endpoint for external clients link.
- Enter a descriptive name in the Name field (SCOM Incident Connector in our example) and also enter a secret in the Client Secret field or leave it blank if you want it to be auto-generated. Click the Submit button to save the API Client ID and Client Secret.
After you completed the steps above you can use this user for configuring the SCOM ServiceNow Incident Connector.
